To create a wallet with MyEtherWallet, simply go to their website and enter a strong password. Then, download your Keystore File and save it in a secure location. You will also be given a Private Key—be sure to keep this private as it gives others access to your ETH if they have it. Next, click “I understand. Continue.” to generate your public address. This is the address that you will use to receive ETH from others. Finally, print out or otherwise securely save your Wallet Information. This page contains all of the information you need to access your ETH wallet, so be sure to keep it safe!
Storing Your ETH Safely
Now that you have created your ETH wallet, it’s time to store your ETH in it! To do this, simply send ETH from another address to your public address. Once the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, your ETH will appear in your wallet balance—congratulations, you’ve now stored your ETH safely in a personal wallet!
Making Transactions with MyEtherWallet
Once you have some ETH in your personal wallet, you’re probably going to want to start making transactions with it. MyEtherWallet makes this easy as well. To make a transaction, simply go to their “Send Ether & Tokens” page and input the amount of ETH you want to send, the recipient’s address, and any data associated with the transaction (this is usually optional). Then click “Generate Transaction.” You will then be prompted to select what type of signature method you’d like to use—we recommend using MetaMask or Ledger for security purposes. Once you’ve selected your signature method, sign the transaction and then click “Send Transaction.” That’s it—you’ve now made a successful transaction using MyEtherWallet!
Creating a New Wallet
The first step is to create a new wallet. To do this, go to the MyEtherWallet homepage and enter a strong password in the “Create New Wallet” field. Once you’ve entered your password, click on the “Create New Wallet” button.
Once your wallet has been created, you will be given a keystore file and a private key. The keystore file is an encrypted version of your private key. Do not lose this file, as it is the only way to access your wallet if you forget your password. The private key is an unencrypted version of your private key. Do not share this key with anyone, as it gives them full access to your wallet.
Sending & Receiving ETH

On the next page, review the details of your transaction and make sure everything is correct. Then, click on the “Send Transaction” button. Once your transaction has been broadcasted to the network, it will show up on the main page of MyEtherWallet under the “Transactions” tab.
Getting Started

Once you’ve entered all the relevant information, simply click on “Generate Transaction.” A popup window will appear asking you to confirm the details of your transaction; review these carefully and click “Send Transaction” if everything looks correct. That’s it! Your transaction will now be broadcasted to the network and should appear in your transaction history once it has been confirmed by miners.
